This is a great chance for avid bikers to get their spouses involved in their love of long distance biking!  Imagine leisurely 350 mile days through America's and Canada's most scenic topography!  Imagine eating a gourmet dinner in a vintage hotel at the end of the route where there is actually an antique car parked inside the hotel's dining room.  Imagine your spouse telling you that he/she understands your love of Alaska trips!  Imagine your dream no longer and be involved and make this happen.  Be one of the five couples to reserve their spot!

For bikers starting in South Florida, consider stopping at Laurel Oaks in Gainesville, just off I-75.

Can you imagine a refreshing place to stay at each night such as Laurel Oaks in Gainesville, Florida (as an example of how it could look like at the end of each day).

Isn't this much comfy than your typical Super 8, Days Inn or other chain hotel rooms?

This is an example of an actual room at a bed and breakfast.

Show this to your spouse and make plans now!  For spouses that still won't ride with you, they can follow in cars.  Perhaps after the list is finalized, the spouses can contact each other and car pool for more fun!

Basically, I will, during the next several months, be picking out scenic destinations about 350 miles apart and find a highly recommended bed and breakfast (via brochures, networking, recommendations, etc.) inn with room for at least five couples.  I will then find out the cost per couple, list the BB with website links and photos and prices, ask the bed and breakfasts to hold all rooms until a previously agreed on release date (hopefully no earlier than April 2010) so you can make your reservations.

Imagine pulling up to this beauty in North Georgia after a delightful day of cruising through the Old South and hearing your spouse comment "I am really going to enjoy this trip!".  Imagine walking in to pampered luxurious surroundings, relaxing in the evening on one of the rocking chairs on the porch and waking up in the morning to freshly made gourmet breakfast that each innkeeper strives to impress you with!

To whet your appetite, the above is a possible stop in North Georgia mountains

After leaving North Georgia and gettng into the northwest part of Tennessee, another delightful surprise!  FYI, what you see on this website is just a representation of the types of Bed and Breakfasts I am seeking to round up with the help and advice from Peggy and Monta from Laurel Oaks in Gainesville.  You don't want to miss out on this 2010 trip as the next one won't be until around 2015 or thereabouts.

This is a possible stop in Tennessee ... a former 1898 hotel!

With at least 21 stops, at 2010 prices, it could be something like $4,500 or more but then I saw on the internet a 10-day trip in Alaska by a motorcycle company charging that much if you have your own bike, or $9,000 if you don't have your bike and this is for very spartan accommodations.  For half that price, for one person you possibly can have three weeks of luxury (of course you are on your own for food and you have to supply your own motorcycle and gas) for yourself and your spouse!

When details are ready, there will be a link on this page (in August 2008) where you can register with a non-refundable deposit for this tour.  To guarantee that you are serious about this trip, the registration fee may be $500.  You can then go ahead and make your reservations at the list which will be posted on this website.  Each place should have photos or weblinks so you can see for yourself how romantic and wonderful this 2010 trip will be as we continue to raise awareness and funds for deaf and/or blind babies thru SKI-HI.
