Kickstands up at 8 a.m. from Belvedere.

This will be the part of the trip with the most rain likely as we are in the coastal rain forest area.  Be prepared ... and keep telling yourselves "This too, shall pass" and think about the nice warm and dry room at the King Edward Hotel, a motorcycle friendly hotel with parking right on the sidewalk!

This will be the roughest strech of the entire trip ... highway 27 is Cassiar Highway 80% paved, 20% gravel.  There will be places where trees grow up to the edge of the road ... no shoulder to speak of.  I had no problems riding my Silver Wing about five years ago on this segment.

Lodging in Stewart, BC or Hyder AK:  Headquarter hotel is the King Edward Hotel/Motel.  www.kingedwardhotel.com   250 636-2244   FYI, hotel is cheaper than the motel across the street.  4 rooms reserved at the hotel at $99 Canadian plus tax.

Wait until you see the "main street" .. with majestic snow capped mountains all around.  There's a vintage hotel dining room with an antique car in it.  The food ... oohhhhhh ... MMMMMM!!!!

You may want to consider:  Bayview Hotel www.ripleycreekinn.homestead.com  250-636-2344

In Hyder .. Sealaska Inn  888 393-1199

Grand View Inn  grandviewhyder@yahoo.com   250 636-9174
