Here is the log from 2010.

Basically, this 2010 trip will differ from 2002-2009 in two ways:

1.  Daily mileage is much shorter -- 350 to 450

2.  Bed and Breakfast Inns added to the lodging list

UPDATED July 5 -- THE TRIP SCHEDULE AND SUGGESTED ACCOMMODATIONS!  If you haven't made reservations now, PLEASE DO SO.  If you and other bikers decide to share rooms, one of you can cancel your reservations to join the other biker.  I am having all the bikers email each other with their plans and it is up to them to share rooms or not.

Friday, July 16, 2010 -- Stay at the Casa de Suenos in St. Augustine, Florida the night before and stroll downtown St. Augustine.

Other Lodging Suggestions:  Cozy Inn ... this is next to Florida School for the Deaf.  I personally looked it over and it looks just like the website!

Country Inn and Suites is also a nice place next to Florida School for the Deaf.

ALTERNATE -- Kansas City, MO to point unknown in Nebraska (rationale:  Bored of interstates?  This will take you through the heartland of Nebraska and you will be at Rapid City, SD the next day ... found a couple of hotels in Valentine, Nebraska .. Comfort Inn at $89 and Quality Inn across from a casino at $80.  This will be around 420 miles or so but will be a shorter drive the next day.

Let me explain this route:  This will take us to the western edge of the park.  With just 331 miles, we will be freesh and enjoy this scenic drive.  The next morning we need to go east again to the main highway.  Please get a good map of Montana and see for yourself what I mean.

ALTERNATE PLAN:  Some of us will be going to Calgary Airport and meeting our spouses/friends there where they will rent cars and follow us to Alaska.  Depending on flight times, we will rendevous in Lake Louise or Prince George.  If you rent a car for someone PLEASE READ THE FINE PRINT!  Some will restrict rental to Alberta and a surcharge for British Columbia.  I was able to find a car rental for only $129 with 3500 KM included.

Terry Karr was able to find a private room for $60 at Mosquitoe Creek Hostel in the northern Banff area, 20km from Lake Louise bustle.

The people who run this shop hand made a windshield for one of the bikers a few years past and the owners, Sam & Sara Henderson, allowed me to watch Sam change the headlights on my Gold Wing so I was able to do that from now on.  I had bought the bulbs earler and he didn't charge me for the installation!   PLEASE CONTACT THEM IN ADVANCE so they can have the parts available for service.

Wednesday, July 28, 2010   Stewart, BC to Prince George, British Columbia – 434 miles.  NOTICE -- some of the bikers will continue North to interior Alaska via Tok.  All registered bikers  have each others e-mail addresses so they can begin a "listserv" chat room so we know of each others plans and make arrangements to go in groups to various parts of interior Alaska OR you can continue with the below schedule.

Gary Hoop plans to travel with George Upton after Hyder.  They are taking the ferry from Prince Rupert and will return to the US
