I'm Mike Tuccelli, 61 years young, on the faculty at the University of Florida. I teach the world's most exciting foreign language, American Sign Language. I'm profoundly deaf since birth but have clear speech (at age five I still couldn't speak but thanks to my mom with high expectations and excellent speech therapists) and I use American Sign Language with enthusiasm.
In the above photo, my 95-year-old Dad rides his Honda daily. He had a 4 cylinder Indian during the 1930s and was known as Indian Pat. What a great role model for me! He always say it is not the years in your life but the life in your years and if you think you can't do it, DO IT!!!
After being against cochlear implants for 25 years, I decided to get one and I love it as I finally can hear a cat's purr, my wife's beautiful laugh (and unfortunately, the computer's fan).
This will be my 8th annual adventure to Alaska. I've been biking since age 14 (Honda 50) then updgraded to a Honda 150 at age 16, put 55,000 miles on that baby, then worked my way up from 350 ccs (including a 4-cylinder model), up thru Pacific Coasts and Honda Matic 750, Helix (did coast to coast on this one), then a Silver Wing -- picture to left -- (four trip to Alaska and currently owned by Winnie in Buffalo, New York), and now on my 2nd Gold Wing.
I'll be starting off from St. Augustine and returnng to St. Augustine!
